The world’s most disgusting hamburger

Note to self: never buy a burger off the street in Kangnam! Yeah I know, the irony.

₩2,500 for an undercooked “burger” made of 50% beef (so the guy claims) and 50% pork. He forgot to tell me about the 75% 떡 (rice cake) hiding in the middle of the patty!

I knew it was gonna be shit but I was curious. At least Terry liked it…

Ain’t too proud to beg… for hot sauce

It’s great that there’s a Taco Bell in Seoul… but those dicks practically made me beg for hot sauce! I ordered a Burrito Supreme and two tacos, and the lady was gonna give me THREE hot sauce packets (they put out ketchup for the taking cuz who the hell puts ketchup on tacos, but the hot sauce is apparently too precious to leave unattended).

So anyway… three hot sauces. WTF!! So I’m like, uh can I get 10 of those, and she’s like, there’s a limit, and I’m like I’LL PAY FOR THEM, and she’s like, ugh fine… and then she carefully counted out 10 hot sauces. She didn’t make me pay, but still… what a pain in the ass.

Korean Taco Bell also prints stupid shit on their hot sauce packets... maybe that's why they're such assholes about giving them out?

Back to the basement!

Here I am in Dad’s basement again, less than six months after moving back to Korea! The main purpose of this pilgrimage is to head up to Wisconsin with dad & bro for our (3rd?) annual dad’s-birthday-fishing-trip, but first things first!

Hey baby, wanna see 9 inches of hot, juicy meat?

Korean food is great, but it's hard to compete with 9 inches of hot, juicy beef

Meanwhile, Jane and her newly-wed husband Dae-Han are entertaining Terry until I get back… or maybe he’s entertaining them? So far the reports are good, ie: he’s not pissing on them or chewing on family heirlooms. I never really thought he would, but he had never been to their apartment before I dropped him off on the way to the airport so I was only 99% sure he wouldn’t wig out! Looks like all is well in Terryland.

Doesn't matter whose house he's in... the bed belongs to Terry and that's that

These photos suck ass

Sorry, it’s all I got. Everyday life just ain’t that interesting so I go around taking pictures of crap with my iPhone and occasionally my digital camera which I usually don’t carry around with me.

As for what I’ve been up to lately… ummm… I just rewrote my resume and packed it with wild exaggerations and outright lies, and then I sent it to a bunch of recruiters for private teaching gigs in an effort to supplement the billions of dollars my iPhone site is generating. I also accidentally climbed a damn mountain with Terry when I thought we were just gonna wander around at the top of a small hill. That hill turned out to be 1000 feet high.

Other than that I’ve just been putting a lot of energy into procrastinating on other shit that’s on my to-do list! There are business ideas to put on paper, websites to be retooled, websites to be started, and numerous other things that are really gonna cut into my porn-watching time once I get rolling on them.

Oh yeah, and a video tour of my new-ish apartment is coming soon, and by “soon” I mean “eventually”… no promises on when.

I love this shit!!

If you’re not drinking banana milk you dunno what you’re missing!

And if you’re lactose intolerant (you know who you are) just suck it up and give it a try if you can find it in Wheaton. I’m lactose intolerant too but the pleasure is worth the excruciating and very stinky pain.

FYI, I’m not on a diet… they were all out of non-Lite banana oo-yoo so I took what I could get. Strawberry’s awesome, too.

Hotdog FAIL

Imagine how excited I got when I saw the big sign that said “Chicago HotDog”… and then came the inevitable disappointment. I asked the lady behind the counter… almost certainly the owner since she was old… if she’d ever eaten a Chicago Hotdog. Of course not! Duh.

If it's too good to be true...

If it's too good to be true...

...it probably is.

Big Macs 24/7

McDonald’s not only delivers, but they do it 24 hours a day! If they do this in America I’ve never seen it… maybe they deliver to offices in downtown areas but probably not at 3 am when you’re both starving and shitfaced.

$14 jeans are super

Only idiots pay $50 for jeans! Yesterday I went to Edae and paid ₩15,000 for a pair of Levis and the guy shortened them for free right there on the spot.

Later on Jisun came out and helped me find some shoes, and then we saw that Percy Jackson Lightning Thief movie (lame unless you’re 12 years old), and then we invaded the buffet at the Renaissance Hotel (not that great), and then I tried to get Jisun to make out with me but she wasn’t falling for my cheap come ons. Eh, I tried.

Happy (Lunar) New Year

The other day I was about to eat a fish with Alaska and, before the food arrived, I shot a gigantic booger onto the table! I didn’t have to hold down any air passages, I didn’t flick it with thumb and forefinger… I just exhaled and launched a pretty impressive slimeball out of my right nostril. I didn’t even see it until Alaska said dude that’s fucking disgusting.

Since then the streets of Seoul have been more or less deserted. I’d like to think the city was evacuated because of what came flying out of my nose, but I’m pretty sure it’s because today is Lunar New Year. In America, New Year’s Day is more like Hangover Recovery Day, but over here it means leaving town and visiting the folks.

A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do

When a Korean girl pours you a shot of soju, you drink it… especially when you know she’s gonna call you a pussy if you don’t! Even if it means puking in a parking garage, and even if it means spending the next 36 hours curled up in the fetal position on Alaska Jae’s floor.

Sorry, I got no pics of the puking or the girl (she was hot, btw) but here’s a look at Nik’s new favorite place to eat… the “thin meat” restaurant in Kangnam. Good stuff. Oh yeah, and Alaska has recently taken to dressing up Terry with bandanas. It’s just a matter of time before I come home and find my dog wearing a pink tutu.

Yesterday’s lunch

Some pretty awesome kimchi jjigae coupled with panchan (fish cakes, seaweed, and raw squid) that I could do without. See what LIK is becoming already?

A few more pics

Tomorrow I’m gonna drag Jisun around with me to a few budongsans (real estate offices) and look for a place to live. Finally! The motel’s aight, but it would be nice to have an actual apartment with wifi and all that.
